Things To Do

We had to stop here for the night because the Oz Experience bus stopped here, so we didn't really get to see much of the are as we left early in the morning.
We were told there was a beach there and it was a very small family holiday town.
It is however the closest place to Mon Repos Beach the turtle breeding ground - look at the things to do page.

Very nice resort, nice apartments. We got a special deal as we were with the Oz Experience. Usually the rooms cost about $85 per night.

Turtles Laying Eggs
|
Mon Repos Beach is the most likely place turtles will lay their eggs every year. The whole beach is protected and you have to go through the National Trust people to get to it.
We went on a trip their organized by the Oz Bus / Kelly's Beach Resort.
It cost $18 per person and basically this covered us getting a lift there and our entry fee.
However seeing as the entry fee was only $5 where the money gets used for further conservation, the resort / Oz bus were pocketing $13 for giving us a 5 minute ride down the road!
If you go there, get a cab between a few of you and it will work out much cheaper.
When we got there we did see a turtle laying eggs and going back into the sea which was pretty cool and definately something you should check out.
